Submission Guidelines:

  • Format: Microsoft Word, Arial, Font size 11, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment, OSCOLA referencing style.
  • Cover Page: Include full name, year of call (for lawyers), phone number, email address, and school of study (for students).
  • Submissions must be original, independent, and unpublished. No co-authored entries.
  • Judging: Blind judging; the decision of the panel is final.
  • AI Disclosure: If AI tools were used, they must be disclosed on the first page.
  • Publication Rights: Lawyard may publish selected submissions, including the winning essays, within 18 months of the competition’s conclusion.
  • Eligibility: Past winners are not eligible to participate again.
