Augustine University announces vacancy for the post of Bursar
THE ROLE:
The Bursar will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the University and report directly to the Vice-Chancellor. The primary responsibilities include the day-to-day administration and control of the University’s financial affairs.
The Bursar will also provide expert advice on investment strategies to generate revenue and oversee the University’s Commercial Services. Additionally, the Bursar will be responsible for financial reporting, resource mobilization, fundraising, sponsorship, grants, revenue generation activities, taxes, and insurance functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a good University degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division from a recognized Institution.
- Be a registered member of any of the Professional Bodies such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ACCA, ACA, etc.
- Be proficient in ICT and familiar with current trends in financial reporting.
- Have proven knowledge in the use of standard accounting packages.
EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of post-graduation experience. Prior work experience in a University or comparable institution will be an advantage.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The salary and benefits package will be as per the remuneration applicable to the post of Bursar at Augustine University. The successful candidate will be offered furnished accommodation, an official vehicle, driver, and other approved benefits by the Governing Council.
The initial term of office will be three (3) years, subject to renewal based on satisfactory performance and in accordance with guidelines prescribed by the Governing Council.
