Ban Ki-Moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2024 For Young African Leaders; In 2024, the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens is offering 17 full scholarships to young African graduates and PhD candidates, covering program costs.

About the Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship: This program empowers exceptional young individuals by facilitating their participation in international conferences, tailor-made short-term academic trainings, and supporting them in the development of their own “SDG Micro-Project.”

Type: Training

Eligibility:

  • African youth from Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
  • Age group 20-35
  • Graduate or doctoral/post-doctoral students or recent graduates of a master’s level degree or higher.
  • Strong dedication to the SDGs, particularly SDG 11, and the ideals of global citizenship.
  • Demonstrate limited access to such opportunities.
  • Minimum English level B2 proficiency (European Standards)

Value:

  • Full cost coverage for summer school training at the University of Bordeaux.
  • Coverage of skills training with MCI and other expert workshops.
  • €500 seed grant for the implementation of an SDG Micro-Project.
  • Certificate of Achievement signed by Co-chairs of the Ban Ki-moon Centre.
  • Alumni Network membership.
  • Platforming of scholars and projects on RELX’s SDG Resource Centre, BKMC website, social media, and international forums.
