These scholarships aim to facilitate study, research, and professional development opportunities within Croatian higher education or research institutions.
Application Deadline: April 5, 2024
Bilateral Scholarships are available for higher education students and university staff engaged in research or teaching activities. Successful applicants will undertake their mobility during the academic year 2024/2025, excluding July and August (from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025).
The program supports study or research in any field at accredited Croatian institutions, predetermined in advance.
Eligible Fields: Applicants may apply through two distinct application pools:
Application Pool 1: BILATERAL AGREEMENTS This pool is open to citizens of countries with valid educational cooperation programs or bilateral agreements with Croatia. Applicants must be nominated by their home institutions or relevant government bodies.
Participating countries include Belgium (Flanders), Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Germany (Bavaria), Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
Application Procedure:
- Submit application documents online via the Agency’s platform.
- Applicants must be nominated by their national institutions responsible for initial applicant selection.
- National institutions should send the Nomination Letter by April 5, 2024, to bilaterala@ampeu.hr or the postal address: Frankopanska 26, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia.
Application Pool 2: SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CROATIAN LANGUAGE STUDENTS This pool welcomes foreign students of Croatian language or Slavic Studies, irrespective of existing cooperation programs or bilateral agreements. Scholarships are available for semester studies of Croatian language at the University of Zagreb or the University of Rijeka, as well as for a summer seminar in Dubrovnik.

- Submit Recommendation Letter from the Croatian language lector along with other required documents via the Agency’s online platform by April 5, 2024.
