There’s no justifiable reason to leave a 10week old baby unsupervised for 8hours. Indefensible. If she was in such a tight place financially, she could have called the council for help. She could have informed her employer/recruiter. She could have even informed the hospital. An arrangement would be made to either keep the baby safe or support her financially till the baby is a lot older. And then trying to lie about what happened to the police and even attempt to elope the country. Horrible criminal behaviour to be honest. There’s no acceptable defence. It’s an unfortunate pitiable mess.
