GOUNI introduces uniforms for students, bans wearing of artificial lashes, nails, colored hairs

Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, has established a new dress code for its employees and students in an effort to reduce inappropriate attire.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, stated this on Thursday, April 20, while speaking to university personnel and students.

The new dress code prohibits students from fixing artificial fingernails, eyelashes, and other artificial materials on the body and the wearing of short/skimpy clothes by staff and students to work and lectures.

Anieke stated that the administration would not permit staff or students wearing tights or other materials that exposed sensitive regions of their bodies because such attire distracted other university members.

In addition, the VC stated that only black and brown haircuts would be permitted on campus, and staff and students were given a month to acclimate to the new restrictions. In addition, from Tuesdays to Fridays, students would be obliged to wear their faculty uniforms.
