GWR: The Government Has Warned The Group That It Cannot Conduct A Kiss-A-Thon In Ekiti State.

 

A group preparing to stage a three-day Kiss-a-thon in Ekiti State has received a stern warning from the state government, which says it cannot let such an event to take place there.

The Guinness World Record-attempting event will take place in one of the state’s lodging facilities.

According to a statement made by Adelusi A.I on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Tourism in Ekiti State, the proposed event is not only foolish, unhealthy, and immoral and has the potential to damage the state’s reputation, but it also is a programme that goes against the values of its citizens.

The Ministry urged Ekiti State Hoteliers Association members to effectively supervise their establishments to prevent them from being exploited adversely to bring shame on the Ekiti State government and its residents.

“The State Government’s attention has been drawn to a planned hosting of “Kiss-a-thon” in Ekiti State,” the statement begins. According to information available to this Ministry, a three-day kissing marathon event called kiss-a-thon has been planned to take place on July 7th, 2023 at one of the State’s hospitality establishments. According to reports, the goal of this event is to break a Guinness World Record.

The event “Kiss-a-thon” is not only ridiculous, harmful, immoral, and capable of degrading the state’s reputation; it also goes counter to the state’s ideals and, as a result, has the potential to morally regress our youth. In light of the aforementioned, any venue that intends to continue operating legally in Ekiti State is hereby forbidden from organising this event or any others similar to it.

In light of the aforementioned, you are now urged to distribute the information in this notice to the members of the Ekiti State Hoteliers’ Association so that they can effectively monitor their establishments for potential misuse to the detriment of the government and people of Ekiti State.
