NUC disowns purported list of fake professors

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially discredited a purported list circulating in the media, alleging the existence of fake professors in Nigerian universities. In a statement, the NUC clarified that this list, which was reportedly disseminated by a Lagos-based media outlet, is entirely false and lacks authenticity. The Commission emphasized that such a list couldn’t have originated from the apex regulatory body without proper consultation with the accredited universities.

Dr. Noel Abiodun Saliu, the NUC Deputy Executive Secretary overseeing its Academic Directorate, dismissed the information as mischievous and baseless, firmly asserting that it did not originate from the Commission.

The NUC reiterated that this publication should be viewed as the deceptive handiwork of individuals seeking to tarnish the esteemed reputation of the institutions mentioned. Additionally, they highlighted that the dissemination of this false information aims to undermine the efforts of the apex regulatory educational agency.
