This serves as an official announcement to the general public that the Coordinating Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare has granted approval for the release of the results of the Professional Examination in Midwifery, which took place in September 2023.

Here is a summary of the results:

1. A total of three thousand, four hundred and eighty-nine (3,489) candidates were successful, representing an impressive 88% pass rate.

Detailed breakdown by category:
– Post Basic Midwifery: One thousand, eight hundred and twenty-six (1,826) candidates achieved success, reflecting an outstanding 96% pass rate.

– Basic Midwifery:
i. One thousand, three hundred and five (1,305) candidates succeeded, accounting for a commendable 77% pass rate.
ii. Basic Midwifery (Refresher): Eleven (11) candidates successfully completed the course, achieving an 85% pass rate.

– Community Midwifery: Three hundred and forty-seven (347) candidates accomplished success, securing an impressive 88% pass rate.

2. Heads of the training institutions are hereby instructed to access the results of their respective institutions online, starting from Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

3. Successful candidates are directed to visit the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria portal (portal.nmen.gov.ng) to complete their online Registration and Licensing applications, effective from Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

4. Please take note that online registration, including payment, must be completed within ninety (90) days. Late registration beyond this period will incur a penalty fee of Sixteen thousand, two hundred and fifty Naira (N16,250.00) per applicant. Any application initiated but not finalized within seven (7) days will be considered invalid.

5. Furthermore, the next Professional Examination in Midwifery is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, March 12th, to Friday, March 15th, 2024.

6. Heads of nursing training institutions are directed to submit statistics of eligible candidates and the Examination Application Checklist for the March 2023 Professional Examination in Midwifery to the Council on or before October 30, 2023. Failure to comply indicates that the institution(s) do not have candidate(s) for the examination.

7. We kindly request acknowledgment of receipt of the result and urge you to contact the Registrar for any necessary rectifications within thirty (30) days. The Council will not entertain any complaints after this 30-day period following the release of the result.
