Q:

Tinubu – If there’s to be a Rerun Election, It Should Be Between Atiku and I

President Tinubu tells the court that if there is to be a rerun election, it should be between Atiku and me.

In order to maintain that only he and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, are constitutionally qualified to run again, President Bola Tinubu has appealed to the justices of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PREPEC) in Abuja to exclude Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and his party in the event of any rerun of the presidential election.

President Tinubu contended that Obi and his party would not be eligible to run again if the justices declared the February 25, 2023 presidential election invalid.

However, Obi emphasised that the five members of the PREPEC should remove Tinubu immediately and advised them not to thwart the will of the people as expressed in the February 25 presidential election.

In response to the petition by Obi & the LP challenging his election as president, President Tinubu’s submissions were included in his final written address.
