These scholarships aim to support undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher studies programs at various esteemed institutions and universities across India.

Application deadlines for these scholarships vary, but typically fall on April 30th, 2024. This initiative originates from a landmark announcement made by the Honorable Prime Minister of India during the inaugural plenary of the India – Africa Forum Summit in April 2008.

It underscores India’s commitment to bolstering academic opportunities for African students by expanding scholarship opportunities for diverse academic pursuits, ranging from undergraduate to higher-level courses.

Administered by the ICCR on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs, these scholarships cater to both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Applicants for doctoral or post-doctoral courses are required to furnish a synopsis of their proposed research area, while those passionate about performing arts are encouraged, where possible, to provide video or audio recordings of their performances.

Proficiency in English is a prerequisite, and applications sent directly to the ICCR by students or via local Embassies/High Commissions in New Delhi will not be considered.
