JABU Releases 2023/2024 Post-UTME/DE Admission Form; Joseph Ayo Babalola University: Admission Requirements, Available Programmes, and Application Process for the 2023/2024 Session

JABU Releases 2023/2024 Post-UTME/DE Admission Form

In this article, we will discuss the general admission requirements, available programs, and the application process.

General Admission Requirements: UTME Admission

Candidates interested in applying for admission to JABU must possess a minimum of five credit passes in subjects including English Language and Mathematics in the GCE, O/L, SSCE (WAEC), NECO, NABTEB, or an equivalent examination.

These credits should be obtained in one or two sittings. Candidates who have already applied to JAMB for admission and wish to change their first choice to Joseph Ayo Babalola University are required to:

a) Apply for a change of institution through JAMB.
b) Obtain the Joseph Ayo Babalola University Application Form.
c) Participate in the screening exercise.

Candidates who are awaiting their examination results can also apply, provided their results will be available by September of the year in which admission is required. Specific college/departmental requirements will be indicated below.

JABU offers a variety of undergraduate programmes across different colleges. Here are the available programmes and their admission requirements:

  1. College of Agricultural Sciences:
    a) B. Agric. with options in:
  • Agricultural Economics and Extension Services
  • Animal Science and Production
  • Crop Science and Production
  • Soil Science and Management
    b) B.Sc. Food Science and Technology
    Admission Requirements:
    Candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSCE, NECO, or an equivalent examination in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Economics. A pass in Physics is acceptable.
  1. College of Environmental Sciences:
    a) B. Arch. Architecture
    b) B.Sc. Estate Management
    Admission Requirements:
    For Architecture, Estate Management, Building, and Quantity Surveying, candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSCE, NECO, or an equivalent examination in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any one of the following: Geography, Fine Art, Economics, Technical Drawing, Building Construction, Biology, and Agric Science.
    For Urban and Regional Planning and Geography, candidates must have five credit passes at SSCE, NECO, or an equivalent examination in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two subjects.
  2. College of Humanities:
    a) B.A. English
    b) B.A. History and International Studies
    c) B.A. Philosophy and Religious Studies
    Admission Requirements:
    Candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSCE, NECO, or an equivalent examination in English Language and four other Arts and Social Science subjects. For B.A. English, the other four subjects must include Literature in English. For B.A. History and International Studies, the four subjects must include Government or History.
  3. College of Natural Sciences:
    a) B.Sc. Biochemistry
    b) B.Sc. Computer Science
    c) B.Sc. Microbiology
    d) B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry
    e) B.Sc. Physics Electronics
    Admission Requirements:
    For B.Sc. Biochemistry, candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSCE or an equivalent examination, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
    For B.Sc. Microbiology, candidates can present Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
    For B.Sc. Computer Science, candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any of Chemistry, Biology, Economics, or Geography.
    For B.Sc. Physics Electronics, the requirements are the same as for Computer Science.
  4. College of Social Sciences:
    a) B.Sc. Economics
    b) B.Sc. International Relations
    c) B.Sc. Mass Communication
    d) B.Sc. Political Science
    Admission Requirements:
    For B.Sc. Economics, candidates must possess five ‘O’ Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
    For B.Sc. Political Science, candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Government/History, and any other three subjects. A pass in Mathematics is required.
    For B.Sc. Mass Communication, the five ‘O’ Level credit passes must include English Language and Literature in English. A pass in Mathematics is also required.
  5. College of Management Sciences:
    a) B.Sc. Accounting
    b) B.Sc. Business Administration
    c) B.Sc. Entrepreneurship
    d) B.Sc. Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management
    e) B.Sc. Insurance
    Admission Requirements:
    For B.Sc. Business Administration, Insurance, Entrepreneurship, and Accounting, candidates must possess five ‘O’ Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
    For B.Sc. Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management, candidates must have five ‘O’ Level credit passes, including Mathematics and English Language.
  6. College of Law:
    a) Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Hons
  7. College of Health Sciences:
    a) B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)
    b) B.Sc. Nursing
    Admission Requirements:
    UTME Requirements:

    Candidates must possess a minimum of five ‘O’ Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, and other relevant science subjects.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

Candidates must have five relevant credit passes at WASC (SSCE), NECO, or an equivalent examination in subjects listed under each programme, with at least two passes at ‘A’ Level. Other entry qualifications include OND with Upper Credit or NCE at Credit level from a recognized institution, Joseph Ayo Babalola University Diploma, and Diplomas from other recognized universities.

  1. Create a student account by completing the form with your personal details and clicking the “Create Account” tab. Ensure that you have a valid email address for account activation.
  2. Activate your student account by checking your email inbox and clicking on the link provided.
  3. Log in to the e-portal using your student login details.
  4. Complete your bio data and upload all required documents in JPEG format.
  5. Check your email account for a response from the admission officer regarding further instructions on the screening date.
