JAMB 2024 UTME/DE registration – step-by-step application guide; The JAMB UTME/DE registration process and procedure for the 2024 session have been officially unveiled. The sale of e-pins for UTME registration will kick off on January 8th, 2024, and conclude on February 24th, 2024.

Registration itself is set to commence on January 15th and wrap up on February 26th, 2024. Direct Entry e-PIN vending and registration will commence on February 28th, 2024, and conclude on March 28th, 2024.

This year, the designated book for UTME candidates is “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jalli.

For institutions, tutorial centers, business centers, and cafes interested in becoming JAMB CBT Agents or Training Centers, preparations can commence by setting up CBT Centers. Detailed instructions on how to proceed can be found on the official JAMB website.

It’s noteworthy that the UTME/DE registration process is now entirely cashless to curb extortion. All third-party charges will be centrally collected by JAMB and remitted weekly to the respective beneficiaries.

There will be three types of e-pins available:

N7,700 for UTME with Mock-UTME
N6,200 for UTME without Mock and Direct Entry (DE)

These fees cover various components including the JAMB application fee, reading text (free for 2024), CBT center registration charge, CBT center examination service charge, bank charges, and CBT Mock-UTME center charge. Candidates must specify the type of e-pin they require at the point of purchase as refunds will not be provided.

Registration periods for UTME candidates, including those from foreign countries, run from January 15th, 2024, to February 26th, 2024. E-PIN vending for UTME starts on January 8th, 2024, and ends on February 24th, 2024, with registration closing on February 26th, 2024. For Direct Entry candidates, the sale of application documents and E-PIN vending begins on February 28th, 2024, and concludes on March 28th, 2024, exclusively at the Board’s State and Zonal Offices.

Candidates are advised to use the eligibility checker before commencing the application process to ensure they meet the requirements. The eligibility checker assists candidates in selecting suitable programs based on their qualifications.

The general entry requirements for admission into various programs include a specified number of O’level credit passes, with English Language being mandatory for all programs, and Mathematics being required for Law, Science-based, and Social Science programs. Direct Entry candidates must also meet specific requirements, including a minimum number of O’level credit passes and other acceptable qualifications such as university degrees, diplomas, or certificates.

During registration, DE candidates must provide detailed information, including their registration/matriculation number from the previous school attended, subjects of qualification, awarding institution, and institution actually attended. It’s essential to upload all required documents, and candidates must ensure the accuracy of their information to avoid discrepancies.

Candidates are not permitted to register multiple times, and any errors during the registration process should be corrected through the Board. Registration must be completed at JAMB-approved centers, and candidates are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their security details.

The order of choice of institutions allows candidates to select from various categories, including Colleges of Education, Universities, Innovation Enterprise Institutions, Polytechnics/Manatechnics, the Nigerian Defence Academy, or the Police Academy.

The registration process involves creating a profile, obtaining an e-PIN, and completing registration at an accredited CBT center. Candidates must ensure their biometrics are successfully captured during registration, as this is necessary for further transactions with JAMB.

Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to indicate their disability for special attention, including provisions for the blind, deaf/mute, and others with specific conditions.

The UTME will take place from April 19th, 2024, to April 29th, 2024, at all nine foreign centers. Candidates are advised to prepare adequately by familiarizing themselves with the CBT environment using the 2024 JAMB CBT software or mobile app and joining relevant support groups for assistance.

Finally, it’s emphasized that the Board does not post any candidate to examination towns other than the one chosen during registration. Candidates should register on time to secure their preferred examination centers, as some towns may be merged due to proven cases of collusion among CBT centers.
