Programs Offered at KASU College of Basic Studies and Admission Requirements

KASU is offering Basic, IJMB, and Remedial programs for admissions in the 2023/2024 session. Here are the details:

Basic Programs (pre-degree):

• Basic Science: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and Geography.
• Basic Humanities: English, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government, and Literature.

Candidates admitted to the Basic Programs must also register for the 2023 UTME for admission. They should have a minimum of five O’Level Credit Passes, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.

IJMB:

• Subjects: A’Level Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Geography, Government, and Sociology.

Candidates admitted to the IJMB program must also register for the 2023 JAMB Direct Entry (DE) for admission. They should have a minimum of five O’Level Credit Passes, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.

Remedial Programs:

• Remedial Science: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, and Geography.
• Remedial Humanities: English, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government, and Literature.

Candidates admitted to the Remedial Programs should also register for the 2023 UTME for admission. Additionally, they must register and pass at credit level the SSCE or NECO in the subjects they are deficient in before they can be considered for admission. They should have a minimum of three O’Level Credit Passes obtained in no more than two sittings.

How to Apply for KASU IJMB, Basic, and Remedial Admission:

Interested candidates for all College of Basic Studies programs should visit the Kaduna State University forms website at www.forms.kasu.edu.ng. They should click on the “register” link and follow the procedure below:

1. Create a Profile and check your email for your Username and Password.
2. Click on “available forms” and select your desired program of study.
3. Fill out the application form.
4. Candidates are required to pay a Processing Fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00). Click on “Pay via Interswitch.”
5. On the review page, select your preferred payment method:

• “Pay with WebPay” to pay online, or
• “Pay with Bank Branch” to pay at any bank (preferably FCMB). Print out the reference page and present it at the bank for payment.

Note:

• The University will not engage in correspondence regarding its decision with any candidate.
• Candidates who are offered provisional admission will need to present the original copies of their credentials during registration.

Closing Date:

All hard copies of completed application forms must be submitted to the office of the Administrative Secretary, College of Basic Studies, Kaduna State University, Kaduna, no later than August 31st, 2023.
