OAU releases 2022/2023 admission into Diploma in Local Government & Development Studies
First, it functions as a training initiative for Local Government staff, financially supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Second, it serves as a foundational program for individuals interested in pursuing a sub-degree program in Local Government and Development Studies.
Upon successful program completion with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 or higher, candidates become eligible for Direct Entry (DE) admission into the 200-level B.Sc. degree programs in various departments at OAU, including Local Government and Development Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, and the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Development Studies.

To apply for the 2022/2023 Diploma program screening exercise, please follow these steps:
- Download the application form from https://eportal.oauife.edu.ng and complete it accurately.
- Make a payment of the $10,000 application fee through https://remita.net by following these steps:
- Select “Bill & Purchase” on https://remita.net, then choose “Pay Billers.”
- Specify “Obafemi Awolowo University” as the entity you want to pay.
- Under “Name of service/purpose,” select “Local Government Form & Fees.”
- Input “1000072192” as the “GIFMIS Code.”
- In the “Description” field, enter “Diploma in Local Govt Application.”
- Provide your essential details, including your name, phone number, and email, as requested.
- Send the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) printout as an attachment to diplomalgds@oauife.edu.ng. Additionally, include scanned copies of supporting certificates and the completed application form to receive the screening passcode.
