PhD Studentship: Mitochondria and Nuclear Positioning in Skeletal Muscle
Scholarship Description:
Explore the dynamics of mitochondrial biology and nuclear positioning in skeletal muscle.
Eligibility:
Candidates must hold a master’s or undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
Non-native English speakers require an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each area. International applicants may need an ATAS clearance certificate.

Scholarship Details:
This PhD program focuses on investigating structural alterations in patients with mitochondrial myopathy, particularly in modified myonuclei organization and nanotunnels. The research aims to develop advanced Correlative Live Light and Electron Microscopy methods for studying mitochondria in cells and tissues.
Goals include characterizing myonuclei positioning, refining the CLEM protocol, devising labeling strategies, and conducting siRNA knockdown experiments.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must hold a UG or Masters degree in a relevant subject area.
An IELTS score of 6.5 is required for non-native English speakers.
International applicants may need ATAS clearance.
