Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Applicants should hold or expect to obtain a First or Upper Second Class Honors Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Physics, Biophysics, Electronics, Nanotechnology, or Biomedical Engineering).
  • Equivalent qualifications, including a Lower Second Class Honors Degree plus a Master’s Degree with Distinction, may be considered.
  • A comprehensive research proposal demonstrating a strong understanding of the subject area is required.

Description: The research project aims to develop advanced biosensing technologies using methods such as quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). By incorporating artificial intelligence into a digital twin format, the project proactively responds to potential threats from emerging bacterial pathogens. The project offers hands-on experience in material characterization, nanofabrication, bacterial handling, and the development of electrochemical and optical sensing platforms.
