The gesture would help students at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) and the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).

Before Mr. Sanwo-Olu reduced the prices by 65%, the university management had recommended a tuition fee of N195,000.

The governor’s special adviser on education, Tokunbo Wahab, stated that this administration will continue to support both universities and work to elevate them to the top in Nigeria.

Okeychukwu David, the president of the students’ union government (SUG) at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, expressed his happiness at the information.

Mr. Okeychukwu claimed that he had serious financial worries about continuing his studies because many of his peers were unable to do so for financial reasons.

Aderemi Balogun, a different student at LASUSTECH, claimed that everyone was thrilled about the information.

“We are pleased to hear the news,” he continued, “since anticipation was high that the government would raise the tuition because the schools had been transformed into universities. We owe Mr. Governor a lot of thanks for the lower tuition and the ongoing campus infrastructure initiatives.
