UNIOSUN Nursing Program receives boost in admission quota; The University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, disclosed this update in a statement issued on Monday, February 12, 2024. Adesoji relayed that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, received notification of the quota augmentation via a letter dated Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

The letter, signed by Ndagi Alhassan, the Director (Nursing)/Head of Standards and Accreditation Department of the Council, conveyed the Registrar, Dr. Faruk Abubakar’s approval.

According to the letter, “I have been directed to convey the Registrar’s approval of indexing quota of 150 for the Department of Nursing Science, Osun State University, Osogbo. The University is advised to adhere to the new admission quota.”

It’s worth noting that just two years ago, the Department’s admission quota was seventy-five (75), which later rose to one hundred (100) before reaching the current 150 in under two years.

In light of the increased quota, the Vice-Chancellor expressed optimism about the beneficial impact of the expanded program on the community and the healthcare system at large. He reiterated the University’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded and proficient Nurses who will significantly contribute to enhancing healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor extended congratulations to the department on the quota enlargement, underscoring that it calls for heightened dedication from all departmental staff towards efficient service delivery.
