UNIPORT 2024/2025 M.Sc. Petroleum Project Development and Energy Transition Programme admission

We are pleased to announce the commencement of the M.Sc. Petroleum Project Development and Energy Transition program, a collaborative effort between the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and IFP School, France, facilitated by IPES and funded by the NNPC Limited/TotalEnergies E&P Nigeria Limited Joint Venture.

Admission for the UNIPORT M.Sc. Petroleum Project Development and Energy Transition Program for the 2024/2025 academic year is now open.

This program is designed to equip students with comprehensive training essential for the development of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields. Upon completion, graduates will possess skills including:

Understanding the context of Energy Transition. Managing oil and gas fields with strategies to minimize carbon emissions. Supervising drilling operations and optimizing drilling programs. Overseeing well completion, workover, and stimulation programs.

Designing and operating oil and gas production facilities. Implementing production optimization and well performance enhancement strategies. Participating effectively in multidisciplinary oil and gas field development teams.

Admission is open to candidates who meet the following requirements:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an NUC accredited or internationally recognized Engineering Program with a minimum of second-class upper division.

Possess a Post HND (Bachelor’s degree) from an NUC accredited or internationally recognized Engineering program with a minimum of second-class upper division.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a NUC accredited or internationally recognized Engineering or physical sciences program with second-class lower division, along with a postgraduate diploma from IPES PGD program or any other PGD program in Petroleum Engineering.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an NUC accredited or internationally recognized Engineering program with second-class lower division, along with three (3) years of relevant work experience in the Oil and Gas industry.

The program is tuition-paying, and admitted students are responsible for their tuition fees or may seek sponsorship.

Application deadline: June 28th, 2024, by 11:59 pm. Ensure to upload scanned copies of your credentials.

Aptitude Test: Onsite or virtual – July 5th, 2024. Oral Interview: Onsite or virtual – July 11th & 12th, 2024. Commencement of academic activities: November 11th, 2024. Any changes will be communicated via email.
