UNIZIK Announce Postgraduate Admission 2024/2025; Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for full-time, part-time, and online admissions into its Postgraduate programs for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Minimum General Requirements

Applicants for any Postgraduate program must possess a minimum of five credits, including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or TCII (Faculty of Education only), depending on the Department/Faculty and General University Requirements. Detailed departmental requirements can be found on the university website at spgs.unizik.edu.ng.

Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma Programs

  • Graduates from approved Universities with a first-degree classification of FCGPA of 1.51 and above on a 5-point scale.
  • Candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics with a Higher National Diploma of at least Lower Credit.

Master’s Degree Programs

  • Graduates from approved Universities with the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with a minimum FCGPA of 2.50 on a 5-point scale, or a minimum of 45% for universities that do not use FCGPA.
  • Candidates with unclassified degrees must have a minimum overall score of 60%.
  • Holders of Postgraduate Diploma in the proposed field of study from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.00 and above.

MPhil/PhD Programs

  • Graduates from approved Universities with a master’s degree in the proposed field of study with an FCGPA of 3.20-3.49.

Doctor of Philosophy Programs

  • Graduates from approved Universities with a master’s degree in the proposed field of study with a minimum FCGPA of 3.50 or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use FCGPA.
  • For PhD in Clinical Oncology, candidates are expected to have MBBS and MSc in related disciplines.

Duration of the Programs

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): Full-time is 2-3 semesters, part-time is 4-6 semesters. For Engineering Professional PGD, full-time is 4-6 semesters and part-time is 6-8 semesters.
  • Master’s Degree Programs: Full-time is 3-6 semesters, part-time is 4-8 semesters.
  • MPhil/PhD Programs: Full-time is 2-3 semesters, part-time is 3-4 semesters.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programs: Full-time is 6-10 semesters, part-time is 8-14 semesters.

Method of Application

Applications should be completed online at https://apply.cpgs.unizik.edu.ng. The process involves filling out the application form, validating your account via email, logging in with the application number and email, confirming details, and making the payment online.

Upon successful application, print your Application Form and Transcript Request form for submission to your former institution for academic transcripts.

Important Dates

  • Sale of Forms: 28th February to 3rd September 2024.
  • Submission of Forms: Ends on 3rd September 2024.
  • Submission of Transcripts: Not later than 9th September 2024. Soft copies may be sent to secdr_transcript.cpgs@unizik.edu.ng from institutional email addresses only.
  • Screening Test and Proposal Defense: Date to be communicated.
