WAEC GCE (1st Series) 2024 registration is ongoing; The Directorate of ICT announces the commencement of registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates 2024 – first series.

The registration fee is N27,000, and sales of pins will close on January 22nd, 2024. Carefully read the information on this page to successfully register for the 2024 GCE.

Registration for the Examination:

Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2024-first Series is online. After obtaining the Registration PIN, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.ng for registration. The procedure includes biometric features for validation at the examination centres.

Examination Dates:

The examination commences from January 31st to February 17th, 2024. A mock examination is scheduled for January 23rd and 24th, 2024, at all registered CBT centres for WASSCE for private candidates, 2024 First Series.

Registration Period:

The normal registration period is from Monday, December 18th, to January 22nd, 2024. The closing date for the generation of PIN is Friday, January 19, while Registration ends on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Mode of Payment:

Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of Twenty-Seven Thousand Naira (N27,000) only at branches of designated banks or any accredited agent.

Additionally, candidates will pay five hundred naira (N500.00) commission to the banks/accredited agents. Cashless payment channels are also available.

Walk-In-Candidates:

Candidates wishing to register after the close of entries may do so as “Walk-in-Candidates” provided they register not less than twenty-four hours before the scheduled paper(s). The fee for “Walk-in-Candidates” is Forty-Five Thousand Naira (N45,000.00) only.

Candidates with Special Needs: Candidates with special needs will register online, stating their impairments (e.g., visual, low vision, spastic, speech, hard of hearing, etc.).

Where to Register: Candidates can visit accredited banks, Cyber Cafes, WAEC offices, and “WAEC REGISTRATION POINTS” for PIN purchase and registration.

Completion of Registration: Candidates must conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during the registration period. They should verify their details and print the Admission Notice, serving as identification during the examination. The fingerprint scanner is UareU digitalPersona.

General Information:

  • The examination will be computer-based, with fully CBT objective papers and hybrid examinations for essays and practical tests.
  • An online mock examination will be provided for interested candidates.
  • Candidates must adhere to regulations, including entering examination halls in mufti and without arms.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the examination hall.
  • Results of candidates sitting in more than one centre will be cancelled.
  • Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed in the examination hall.
  • Valid email and telephone numbers must be provided during registration.
