Students in Kwara have received sex education and guidance on how to avoid any immoral behavior that can have an impact on their future from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

At Gwanara, Baruten LGA of Kwara on Friday, primary students and secondary students were sensitized on rape, sex education, and juvenile delinquency.

The students were warned not to engage in rape, sexual abuse, smoking, or bad company by Muhammed Ibrahim, the state NSCDC Commandant.

The Divisional Officer of Gwanara, Babawale Afolabi, who was the commandant’s representative, cautioned the students to refrain from using social media for anything other than academic purposes.

He reminded them to be mindful of their friendships and to avoid letting social activities have a negative impact on them.

Halimat Mohammed, the invited speaker, advised female students to dress in a way that would deter rapists, while male students should refrain from acting indecently.

The females were taught various strategies for protecting themselves from being sexually assaulted and other immoral crimes.

Students from the primary and secondary schools in the Gwanara Emirate attended the program, which was hosted in Gwanara town.
