Federal Government approves establishment of 7 new tertiary institutions 2023; In alignment with the Present Administration’s unwavering dedication to ensuring governance continuity and policy coherence, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has granted his approval for the phased establishment of several new educational institutions.

These additions to the educational landscape will encompass Four Colleges of Education set to be transformed into Federal Universities of Education, Two Federal Universities of Agriculture, Two Federal Universities of Medical and Health Sciences, and Five Colleges of Education.

The sanctioned institutions, for which the establishment process is set to commence without delay, are as follows:

(a) The Federal Universities include:

  1. Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale, Delta State.
  2. Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi, Adamawa State.

(b) The Colleges of Education that will be converted into Federal Universities of Education are:

  1. Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo, Ondo State.
  2. Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education in Owerri, Imo State.

(c) The Colleges of Education include:

  1. Federal College of Education in Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti State.
  2. Federal College of Education in Ididep, Ibiono, Akwa Ibom State.
  3. Federal College of Education (Technical) in Yauri, Kebbi State.

The establishment and conversion of these institutions underscore President Tinubu’s commitment to the Education for the Renewed Hope Agenda, further enhancing accessibility to tertiary education opportunities across the nation.
