The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has issued a statement concerning a misleading notification that has been circulating, claiming that candidates seeking admission to the university can write a letter to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) to change their preferred course or department.
The university management has clarified that the notification is entirely false and did not originate from them. It is important to note that the admission process is fully automated, and no letters are required to effect any changes.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) manages the admission process for all Nigerian universities through its Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). Therefore, any requests for a change of university, course, or department fall under the purview of JAMB.
The university advises all candidates and their sponsors to disregard the notification and rely only on official information from JAMB and the university management.
