In Ogun state, a man was detained after fatally crushing a driver to death due to a misunderstanding.
Police in Ogun State have detained 26-year-old Adeyemi Babatunde for allegedly killing 46-year-old motorist Obafunsho Ismail over a minor car accident.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, said that “the incident began on December 8, 2022, at around 8 p.m. when the suspect, who was driving a Lexus Jeep with the number plate “Olu of Oya,” hit the deceased car from behind and damaged the car’s light.
The deceased got out of his car and called the suspect over so they could inspect the damage and come up with a plan of action. Adeyemi Babatunde, the suspect, was attempting to flee while refusing to get out of his own car. The deceased became enraged by this and insisted that the suspect comes down. As a result, he sat on the suspect’s car’s bonnet to stop him from driving away.
He later came down and warned the deceased to leave the bonnet of his car if he doesn’t want to wate his life. He then went back to the car, drove on high speed which made the deceased fall off the car making the car runover him. Not satisfied, the suspect reversed the vehicle and ran over the deceased again to ensure that he actually died. After completing the act he ran away with the vehicle”, the statement stated.
Oyeyemi stated that on December 10th, men from the State Motor Traffic Division apprehended the suspect after tracking him to his father’s home in the Kemta Idi Aba neighborhood of Abeokuta. The car the suspect had used to carry out the crime was also taken to the station.

First you drive badly, cause an accident and kill someone in the process.
I hope the court will give justice to the deseased.
