Tola Odeyemi, the newly appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), has set forth her ambitious vision to elevate the service into a world-class e-commerce and logistics hub. Odeyemi officially assumed her role on Monday, putting an end to the controversy surrounding the purported reinstatement of the former PMG, Sunday Adepoju.

Addressing the management staff of NIPOST, Odeyemi expressed her commitment to building upon the legacy left by her predecessors, aiming to advance the postal organization both locally and globally. She made a firm commitment to harnessing technology to enhance the efficiency of NIPOST’s logistics, e-commerce, and other postal services.

Outlining her agenda for NIPOST, Odeyemi emphasized the importance of continuity, focusing on core values, and maximizing the organization’s potential while adapting to change. She pledged to solidify NIPOST’s position as a leading postal operator and transform it into a world-class e-commerce and logistics hub. Odeyemi extended her hand, seeking the cooperation of the staff and encouraging them to provide postal services that meet the needs of Nigerians across the country.

Odeyemi expressed her gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the appointment and promised to lead NIPOST into an era of innovation, modernization, and transformation, aligning with the president’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’

Stakeholders within the industry have warmly welcomed Odeyemi’s appointment as Postmaster General of the federation. Oluwaseun Dania, CEO of Alpha-Geek Technologies, praised the decision as a sign of forward-thinking governance. He highlighted Odeyemi’s extensive career, including her background in technology policy, government regulation, and her roles with global giants like Uber and Binance. Dania also emphasized her public service contributions, such as serving as the Executive Secretary/Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Dania concluded by underlining Odeyemi’s remarkable 15-year career, which positions her as a trailblazer capable of steering NIPOST toward technological advancement and operational excellence in line with the goals set out by the Minister for Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani. He praised Odeyemi’s ability to formulate forward-thinking technology policies and her aptitude in deploying technology to meet regulatory requirements.
