Tribunal Sacks Adeleke, Declares Oyetola As Osun Governor.
Adegboyega Oyetola of the APC has been named the victor of the Osun State governorship election, which took place on Saturday, July 16, 2022, according to the electoral petition tribunal.
On Friday, January 27, 2023, the tribunal declared Ademola Adeleke’s victory for the PDP invalid.
In a majority decision, Justice Tetsea Kume stated that INEC had not substantially complied with the Constitution and the Electoral Act’s provisions.
After deducting the overvoting he had noticed from the votes cast for each candidate, he ruled that Oyetola had won the election with 314,921 votes, defeating Adeleke’s 290,266 total.
