Volleyball Star Julia Ituma, An Italian-Nigerian, Died After Falling From The 6th Floor.
The last moments of Julia Ituma, an Italian-Nigerian volleyball player who passed away in Turkey after falling from a sixth-floor hotel window, are seen on CCTV.
Her team, Igor Gorgonzola Novara, had just lost in Turkey to the other semifinalist in the Champions League when the incident happened. On the morning of Thursday, April 13, Ituma’s body was discovered outside her hotel in Istanbul, Turkey.
Ituma is captured on camera using her phone while going slowly down the hotel corridor, then sitting for over an hour outside her room door in a “pensive and thoughtful” manner before finally entering her room for the final time.
Julia Ituma had been competing for her side in their second-leg knockout game against Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul, where she had gained two points despite their loss.
Her remains were sent for forensic examination, but the cause of death has not been established. An investigation into the incident has been opened by local police.
