Ibadan poly gets radio station licence

Ibadan poly gets radio station licence; The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State, announced on Monday that it has obtained an operating license for its radio station from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Abuja.

Mojeed Lawal, the Dean of the Faculty of Financial and Management Studies and Chairman of the Convocation Planning Committee, made this announcement during a press conference held to introduce the activities for the 35th-38th combined convocation of the institution in Ibadan, the state capital.

Lawal disclosed that a 72-room office complex, constructed to enhance the institution’s Internally Generated Revenue, would be inaugurated alongside the radio station by the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Friday.

He stated, “Today’s programme is to avail you of the activities lined up for this combined convocation ceremony. Both Jumat and church services were held on Friday, December 8, and Sunday, December 10, respectively.

“Retd Maj. Gen. Adebayo Olaniyi will deliver the graduation lecture entitled “Leadership Evolution: Empowering Change Agent for a Transformative Future” on Wednesday, December 13.

“On December 14, as part of the activities lined up, a group of alumni of the institution specifically 90/93 set have volunteered to plant trees across the length and breadth of the institution. This will further enhance the beautification of the institution.”

The chairman also mentioned that the convocation would involve the presentation of diplomas, certificates, and prizes to the 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2022/2023 graduating classes.

Present at the press conference were officials such as the Deputy Registrar, Exams and Records, Adewunmi Ogunjumi; the Chief Librarian, Kayode Joseph, representing the institution’s Librarian; the Chairman, Committee of Deans, Bolanle Oseni, and Abiodun Adegbuyi, among others.
