Six CBT Center employees and 34 candidates were detained by JAMB for exam fraud; Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has verified the arrest of six operators of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Kano State for breaking board regulations during the administration of the upcoming exam.

About 34 candidates for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), according to Oloyede, who made the news on Wednesday, February 1., were also detained for test fraud. He claims that the substitution of the candidate’s fingers during capturing is where examination malpractices begin.
One of the criminals detained was revealed to be a law student at Bayero University (BUK), Kano, who allegedly had the thumbprints of 14 potential test takers at the Butale Computer Center.
While the third person was apprehended by Oloyede while registering for six candidates, the second person at the same center also captured thumb printing for 14 students.
More than 500,000 candidates have registered for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, according to Oloyede. She also stated that the closing date will not be extended and that JAMB’s aim for this year was 1.8 million applicants.
