Study in Canada Scholarships 2024/2025: Opportunities for International Post-Secondary Students

Program Overview:

The Study in Canada Scholarships program is designed to facilitate institutional collaborations and student exchange agreements, enabling students to pursue study or research in Canada. The program targets students from new eligible countries/territories, including parts of Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Eligible Countries/Territories Include:

  • Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan
  • Europe: Turkey, Ukraine
  • Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda

Scholarship Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Study in Canada Scholarships, candidates must:

  • Be citizens of the eligible countries/territories.
  • Be enrolled full-time at post-secondary institutions in their home country and pay any tuition fees required at the time of application and during their stay in Canada.
  • Not hold Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a pending application for permanent residency in Canada.
  • Not be participating in another exchange scholarship program funded by the Government of Canada or enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution.

Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

Selected Canadian institutions must waive tuition and/or administrative fees for scholarship recipients. The scholarship covers various costs including visa or study/work permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living expenses, transportation, and books and supplies required for the recipient’s study or research.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • CAD 10,200 for a minimum of four months or one academic term for college, undergraduate, or graduate students.
  • CAD 12,700 for a period of five to six months for graduate students (Master’s and PhD).
  • Canadian host institutions may claim CAD 500 per scholarship recipient to assist with administrative costs.

Application Process:

Applications for the Study in Canada Scholarships must be submitted by Canadian institutions on behalf of the candidates.

Interested students must contact their home institution, which in turn needs to collaborate with a Canadian institution to submit the application.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should ensure their home institution is aware of their interest in the scholarship and works in partnership with a Canadian institution to submit the application.
