Effects on admission

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, academic calendars haven’t been the same, and it took many institutions in the education sector a while to get back on their feet, many examinations weren’t even conducted on dates they usually should be, and few such examinations would be JAMB, WAEC, NECO and IJMB. But this shift in calendar didn’t discourage organising boards to conduct their examinations, then suddenly when everything was seemingly coming back to normal. ASUU strike kicks in.

Currently, many students who successfully gained admission from the JAMB admission exercise for the 2021 academic session haven’t matriculated or resumed their 100 level, and on the 6th – 15th of May 2022, JAMB conducted a new admission exercise for the 2022 academic session.

When Will JAMB 2022 Candidates Resume?

Student Village can’t authoritatively say when new admissions will be to students who sat for the JAMB 2022 examination as resumption is solely dependent on when ASUU calls off the strike. But if we are to speculate if the ASUU strike is called off before September 2022, the 2021 set can resume their first semester and by February 2023 they can round off one academic session. With this calculation JAMB, 2022 set will most likely secure admission and resume lectures in March 2023 but admission exercises will commence before then.

Students in this category are advised to be patient and prepare hard for postutme. We wish you all good luck.
