Check WAEC 2024 GCE results (1st series); The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the results for the first-ever Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates (WAEC GCE), 2024 1st series.
According to the performance analysis, out of the 8,139 candidates who took the examination, 3,424 candidates, representing 42.07%, obtained credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects with or without English Language and/or Mathematics. Additionally, 2,519 candidates, representing 30.95%, obtained credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

However, the results of 65 candidates, constituting 0.80% of the total number of candidates, are being withheld due to various reported cases of examination malpractice. The Council acknowledged that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination method for WASSCE significantly reduced examination malpractices compared to previous years.
Candidates whose results are being withheld can seek redress by registering their complaints on the WAEC website.
To check their results, candidates should follow these steps:
- Log on to https://www.waecdirect.org/
- Enter Examination number
- Select Examination year as 2024
- Select Examination type as PRIVATE CANDIDATES
- Enter your PIN and serial number
- Click on submit to view your results
