Gombe State University Receives NUC Approval for New Programmes; Gombe State University (GSU) has achieved a significant milestone with the approval of new programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Student Village reports, In a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, the NUC expressed its satisfaction with the resources available for the establishment of these programmes. The approved undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will commence from the 2023/2024 academic session.

The approved programmes, to be run at the university’s Main Campus, are as follows:

Important Notes:

The NUC did not grant approval for the B.Sc. (Ed) Accounting programme due to the non-availability of the BMAS (Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard), and therefore, the university is advised to apply for the B.Sc. Business Education programme instead.

Additionally, the B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programme should be domiciled in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. It is essential to emphasize that the approval does not include the part-time mode of delivery for the undergraduate programmes.

Compliance and Growth:

The university is reminded to adhere strictly to the approved titles and nomenclature of the programmes, as any changes must be approved by the Commission. GSU is also urged to ensure the provision of adequate human and material resources to facilitate the development and growth of the approved programmes.
