UNIJOS 2022/2023 revised school charges for undergraduate students; After extensive consultations with various stakeholders, the University of Jos Administration wishes to officially communicate the revised School Charges structure to the University’s students, parents, and the general public.

The decision to revise the charges stems from the valuable feedback received during these consultations, which led to the identification of specific additional charges that will now be applied only when applicable.

UNIJOS 2022/2023 revised school charges for undergraduate students

Consequently, the previously approved basic School Charges of N160,000 have been reduced to N110,000, and additional charges will be implemented as follows:

  1. Convocation Charges: Only final year students who have satisfactorily completed their studies and are on the Graduating List will be required to pay a fee of N25,000 for Convocation.
  2. Laboratory/Workshop/Studio Charges: Students whose departments conduct functional laboratory, workshop, or studio work will be charged an additional N30,000 for these services.
  3. Departments Affected: The following departments/programs will require students to pay laboratory/workshop/studio charges:
    • All Programs in the College of Health Sciences
    • All Programs in the Faculty of Agricultural Science
    • All Programs in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
    • All Programs in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
    • All Programs in the Faculty of Engineering
    • All Department/Programs in the Faculty of Natural Sciences except the Department of Mathematics
    • Building & Urban and Regional Planning (URP) in Environmental Sciences
    • Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts
    • Psychology and Economics in the Faculty of Social Sciences
    • All programs in the Department of Science and Technology Education
  4. Ceasing Duplicate Payments: All departments and faculties are directed to cease collecting payments for charges that are already included in the centrally approved School Charges structure.
  5. GST Charges: Students taking General Studies (GST) courses will be required to pay GST charges.
  6. Payment in One Installment: To ensure proper monitoring and quality control, all approved School Charges must be paid in one installment at the beginning of each session.
  7. Extended Deadline: The deadline for payment of School Charges and Sessional Registration has been extended by an additional two weeks from the previously announced closing date of September 15, 2023. However, lectures will commence on September 11, 2023.

The University’s Management urges all students and parents to take note of these revised charges and adhere to the new payment deadlines.

Students should initiate the online payment and registration process via the University website http://portal.unijos.edu.ng and subsequently present themselves for physical confirmation of their registration at their respective Faculties/Departments.
